Creating an assessment with Catalytix

Catalytix, powered by PocketAnalytix, the mobile information tool from EMS, is able to read and write data from any OLEDB/ODBC complient data source. As such, building an assessment from an existing database or system is usually a simple task. Using the PocketAnalytix server tools, an administrator can extract data from an existing database using a graphical SQL designer.

For those wishing to create an assessment system independent of any existing systems there is the Catalytix Administrator software. An easy to use graphical front end allows the administrator to add and ammend questions to a questionaire and assign them to a particular category or domain.

In both cases you may choose which fields are editable by your end users and, optionally, provide a list of allowed answers easing data entry and enforcing data integrity.

The screen layout is also highly configurable providing the ability to display the data on a tabbed dialog and to display a descriptive prompt for each field and for each record. Click here to see how PocketAnalytix has been configured to provide assessment data.

Deploying an assessment with Catalytix

Once you have created your assessment it is ready to be deployed to one or more of the three supported clients. These include Win9x/WinNT, PocketPC and a zero-footprint HTML client. PC based clients can connect to the PocketAnalytix server using COM+. PocketPC based clients connect to an IP listner running on the server. All data transactions are made using XML, offering the highest degree of integration available. Your assessment can also be deployed over the web, increasing the reach of your assessment data to any HTML browser functionally compatible with IE3 or higher.

If you need any assistance with creating or deploying an assessment, phone or on-line support is available from EMS.
