| Server | This module is the server component that manages the requests for on line data. The module receives and processes queries and sends the result back to the Pocket PC in XML format. The XML results are incremental on the Pocket PC and all the query results in a session can be saved for off line review. |
| Administrator | This module runs on either an NT Server or Windows Desktop. It offers the ability to design 'Views' of either OLAP or SQL databases. Views are essentially templates that position a user when querying a database. They define the query, the initial rows and columns that are displayed and the dimensions or fields that are the filters. The Administrator also supports the definition of 'Scripts'. These Scripts are the combination of all the filters and drill downs that can be viewed when off line. picture |
| Desktop | The Desktop module is a management console that enables users to run the Scripts that have been designed by the Administrator. These Scripts generate populated Views. Using RAPI the populated Views can be downloaded to the Pocket PC and managed. These Views can be navigated off line with drill up/down and filter changing. If data is not available off line then the user can go on line to the server and make additional queries. This extra data is cached with the existing data so that it can be saved for off line viewing. picture |
| PocketPC | This fully functional application displays both on and off line Views. These Views can be opened and OLAP and SQL filters chosen and applied. When the View is displayed in grid format then OLAP sourced data can be drilled into. Users can create their own Views by going on line retrieving data and then saving the query results for off line review. Further value can be added to the data with colour coded exceptions and copy/paste to Pocket Excel and Word. picture |
